The Sun moves

The Sun has appointed Les Snowdon as assistant editor. Snowdon is currently editor of The Times Scottish edition and will join the paper in June.

The Scottish Sun has also promoted Alan Muir to acting editor. Muir, currently deputy editor, will replace Gordon Smart who is moving to London to take on the role of deputy editor at The Sun.

Head of showbiz Dan Wootton has been promoted to associate editor (showbiz & TV), while Laura Armstrong has moved from her role as associate head of TV to become The Sun’s Sunday showbiz editor.

The Sun’s U.S. editor Pete Samson has left the paper. A replacement is yet to be confirmed.
