The Economist appoints editor
The Economist has appointed Zanny Minton Beddoes as editor. She will succeed John Micklethwait on 2 February. Minton Beddoes is currently the newspaper's business affairs editor. Her successor in this role has not yet been confirmed. Minton Beddoes will be the first female editor in the history of the publication.
