Selling Long Haul journalist wins award
Selling Long Haul journalist Laura Gelder has been recognised by the Caribbean Tourism Organisation for writing The Best Travel Trade Feature for her familiarisation trip report on Grenada.
The feature was one of a range of global fam trip reports created by BMI's Selling Long Haul team. The Caribbean Travel Journalism Awards 2012 were presented during World Travel Market at a function attended by over 100 guests, comprising visiting tourism ministers and their delegations, UK Chapter members and an array of consumer and trade media.
Selling Long Haul publisher, Sally Parker, said: “Selling Long Haul is the leading travel trade training magazine and these fam trip reports have become one of our most compelling products. They allow us to showcase a destination from the agents’ perspective and work as peer-to-peer advocacy in the same way as social media does. They provide good quality content on a destination and both engage and fully-inform the readers. We are delighted Laura and the format have received such great recognition from the industry.”
