Last orders for The Publican’s Phil Mellows
CMP Information’s The Publican has hired Claire Dodd as features writer, replacing features editor, Phil Mellows.
Dodd joined the weekly pub trade title on 11 August after working on both news and features as part of the companies graduate trainee scheme on a number of CMPi owned trade titles, including Travel Trade Gazette, Building Design, Building and Music Week.
She also worked as a freelance journalist writing mainly features for both consumer and trade titles including The Guardian, The LondonPaper, myfashionlife.com, Theme, Travel Trade Gazette and DVD Monthly.
Covering all sections of the magazine, her role as The Publican’s features writer involves writing about drinks, food, property and general pub and the licensed trade related topics.
Dodd said: “We like to receive information on new food or drinks products and sales incentives, any pubs that are for sale, information on licensees, individual pubs and events/business building initiatives they are running, or anything related to drinks and the licensed trade.”
Former features editor, Phil Mellows left The Publican on 8 August and continues to write for the title on a freelance basis. He also plans to write a book on pubs.
