Horticulture Week website goes daily
Haymarket’s Horticulture Week has relaunched its website, HorticultureWeek.co.uk.
It is now providing a daily news service to the UK horticulture sector.
Online editor Christina Taylor said the revamped site is a “radical departure from the previous site,” and better reflects the breadth of Horticulture Week’s audience.
News channels cover garden retail, ornamentals and edibles production, turf, landscape, parks and gardens, and arboriculture.
Alongside breaking news, on the home page is a dedicated feed of the latest pest and disease headlines.
News is available by RSS feeds and by emails, including daily alert, Horticulture Week Daily and six email bulletins by industry sector.
A new community section for forums and blogs allows contributors and users to make comments.
‘Plant Focus’, a popular weekly feature in the magazine that looks in-depth at individual plants and their management, is now online. The Plant Focus archive already covers more than 50 genera.
The site also gives users a searchable directory of horticulture industry suppliers, jobs from HorticultureJobs.co.uk, professional buying guide What Kit? and an archive of articles from Horticulture Week and fellow Haymarket title Garden Retail.
Additional changes are planned for HorticultureWeek.co.uk later this year, including new events and resources sections as well as a careers guide that will offer advice, information and case studies to those considering horticulture as a career or looking into further training.
