Financial Times appoints global media editor
Financial Times has appointed Matthew Garrahan as global media editor, a role he will begin on 1 February.
Garrahan will oversee the FT's coverage of media, marketing and entertainment. He will be based in New York from the summer.
Since joining the Financial Times in 1998, Garrahan's patch has included sports, leisure and most recently Hollywood and West Coast US politics and business as Los Angeles correspondent.
Garrahan, who can be found tweeting @MattGarrahan, replaces Andrew Edgecliffe-Johnson who was appointed the FT's US news editor last year.
