Felicity Murray joins Global Trade Media as packaging group editor
Global Trade Media has appointed Felicity Murray as packaging group editor responsible for Packaging Today, Converting Today and Contract Packing magazines.
Felicity began her career as a fashion designer before turning to journalism. For nearly 20 years she edited fashion, beauty and home-style pages for national newspapers and magazines, including the Daily Mail and TVTimes. She also edited a number specialist titles, such as Pins and Needles, Notions and Celebrity Knitting.
She entered business magazines in 1990 and edited journals for industries as diverse as screen-printing, travel retail, home furnishings and, eventually, packaging.
She was editor of Packaging News for nearly 10 years, during which time the British Society of Magazine Editors awarded her the prestigious title of Business Magazine Editor of the Year (1998).
She left the magazine in October 2006 to edit Drinks International for a couple of years, and in May 2009 she founded and launched TheDrinksReport.com – a global on-line magazine and e-newsletter for the wine and spirits trade.
She is an honorary member of the International Packaging Press Organisation, for which she once acted as general secretary and then treasurer.
Felicity says: “I am delighted to be back in the world of packaging, and look forward to developing further the excellent industry relationships and editorial content of these long established and respected titles.”
