Express & Star changes production schedule and deadlines
The Express & Star has switched its production schedule from on-the-day printing to shortly before midnight.
Editor Keith Harrison said the change will make the newspaper available in shops earlier and delivered sooner to subscribers. The deadlines will be later than the nationals and they will still be able to stop the press for big stories. Harrison also explained there will be less national news and sport covered in the newspaper.
The structure of the editions will remain unchanged and separate Saturday editions for Staffordshire, Walsall, Sandwell, Dudley and Wolverhampton will be brought back.
These production changes are also to be introduced at sister title the Shropshire Star.
