Editorial changes at The Spectator
The Spectator has made a series of changes to its editorial team.
Managing editor Freddy Gray is now deputy editor, overseeing all parts of The Spectator, while deputy editor Mary Wakefield has been appointed as commissioning editor.
'Culture House' blog editor Igor Toronyi-Lalic has been promoted to arts editor, succeeding Liz Anderson who has retired after 23 years at the magazine. Toronyi-Lalic will oversee all of The Spectator's arts coverage. Additionally, deputy arts editor Lucy Vickery is now also editing the magazine's final section, 'Life'.
Digital editorial assistant Lara Prendergast has been appointed deputy online editor, standing in for online editor Sebastian Payne who is in Washington for four months, having won the Washington Post’s Laurence Stern Fellowship. He will return in November.
Former Daily Telegraph's blogs editor Damian Thompson joins as an associate editor.
Blogs editor David Blackburn will leave his role in September. His replacement will be named in the Autumn.
