Dennis Publishing is launching a series of monthly magazines called The Instant Guide.

The magazines are aimed at consumers looking for jargon-free, step-by-step guides to getting the most out of their everyday gadgets and software.

The series will be written by Dennis’ technology writers from Computeractive, PC Pro and Web User.

The first issue went on sale today and features advice on how to choose a broadband supplier; the differences between services; how to improve your wireless signal; plus how to secure your family, your network, and your mobile devices.

Future issues will cover topics including creating your own website; taking better pictures; buying the perfect laptop; Microsoft Word; and backing up your PC, tablet and phone.
