DC Thomson editors Alan McCabe and Richard Prest to go on secondment

DC Thomson has confirmed that editor-in-chief Alan McCabe of The Press and Journal and editor Richard Prest of The Sunday Post will be taking up long-term secondments as part of a Google-funded project aimed at helping the publisher create a more sustainable future. The project hopes to help local and regional newspaper companies and intends to support business transition to improve audience and digital capabilities. As a result, Jim Wilson will take over Richard’s role at The Sunday Post from 28 October, while a replacement editor at The Press and Journal is yet to be appointed. It is expected that the secondments will last between 12 and 24 months.
