Daily Record and Daily Mirror launch free iPad apps
Trinity Mirror have launched free iPad apps for the Daily Record and Daily Mirror.
The apps are replicas of the printed editions with added videos, interactive adverts, 30-day archives, automatic overnight downloads and "live news tickers". They will be free to UK users Monday to Friday while international users are able to access paid-for-apps.
Videos will show news stories, film trailers and video games, with the Mirror app including an interactive pop-up crossword.
The Mirror’s app also uses the iPad's geolocation capabilities to offer the reader a choice of ten regional editions.
Allan Rennie, editor-in-chief of the Daily Record and Sunday Mail, said: "The e-edition brings a different vibrancy to our paper, which allows us to showcase our leading Scottish news, sport and entertainment in exciting new ways."
Lloyd Embley, editor-in-chief of the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror and The People, added: "The e-edition is brimming with the energy and creativity that will extend the reach of our journalism to new and wider audiences."
