Centaur Media to acquire Econsultancy
Centaur Media has today announced on the London Stock Exchange that it has agreed to buy Econsultancy, the digital marketing information provider, for an initial consideration of £12m, subject to shareholder approval on 9 July.
Econsultancy, whose presence stretches from the UK to the US, Middle East, Asia and Australia, has built its business around online subscriptions, events and training.
The acquisition is part of Centaur’s plan to accelerate its transition towards digital revenues. Econsultancy’s CEO Ashley Friedlein and other key executives will remain with the firm.
Econsultancy will become a part of Centaur’s Business Information division, led by Simon Middelboe, and will work closely with the marketing and creative team in the Business Publishing division and with exhibitions, especially Marketing Week Live.
