BBC’s Nick Robinson joins Radio 4’s Today programme
BBC News political editor Nick Robinson is leaving the position after ten years to become a presenter on BBC Radio 4's Today programme. He will take a break to complete his recovery from surgery he had earlier this year and will begin the role in the autumn.
Robinson replaces Jim Naughtie who becomes special correspondent for BBC Radio 4 and books editor for BBC News.
The BBC said in a press release that a political editor will be appointed "in due course".
