BBC Sport appoints editor

BBC Sport has appointed Dan Roan as editor.

Roan takes over from David Bond, who left in May. Roan has been chief sports correspondent since April 2013, having joined the corporation as a sports correspondent in 2010.

Roan led the BBC's sports news coverage at the World Cup and Commonwealth Games this Summer. He can be found tweeting @danroan.
