Metropolis International has promoted Phil Prime from deputy editor to editor of Laboratory News and MedLabNews.

Prime replaces Alexandra Bailey, who has returned to university to study for an MSc in public health.

A replacement deputy editor has not been appointed, though Kerry Taylor Smith will join the Croydon-based title as a staff writer on 26 October.

Laboratory News is the only UK publication that links producers and consumers of all types of scientific equipment with a mixture of news, comments, reviews and features.

MedLabNews focuses specifically on medical, clinical and diagnostics issues for laboratory personnel from medical and clinical laboratories.
