The Carnyx Group has appointed Andy Oakes as head of London operations of The Drum. He takes up the role with immediate effect.

Oakes was previously the publisher of New Media Age, whilst also responsible for Reputation Online and a variety of events and award schemes.

As part of his role, Oakes will help establish The Drum in London and support events that are being launched in the capital, such as the Social Buzz Awards, the Online Media Awards, Cream London and the Chip Shop Awards.
