Keeping London informed about the jazz scene is a tough business, but someone's got to do it. That's where Sebastian Scotney and LondonJazz News comes in. Described as 'what must be the most in-depth local jazz coverage on the planet,' if it's jazz and it's in London, it's probably in LondonJazz News.
Tell us about your blog.
There was a discrepancy between the thin mainstream media coverage of live jazz in London outside of festival-time, and the amazing depth and variety and vibrancy of the scene all year round.
How do you source content for your blog?
Not difficult. After four and a half years, many contributors now have good existing relationships and we receive new approaches all the time.
Do you write reviews?
Yes. Up to 5000 views for a popular review directly on the site. Probably double that if you include outlets where it is reproduced.
How did you build a following for your blog?
– Adding regular quality content.
– Building up a loyal focused targeted industry-wide and world-wide subscription list for our much-loved Wednesday 8am newsletter.
Are you a PR friendly blog? Do you accept contributions and content for your blog?
Try us.
How best do you like to be approached by PRs?
We want to build mutually beneficial relationships over time with people who 'get' what we do and who want to work collaboratively and inventively.
Blogging is great because….?
Like everything else, it has its moments.
