Smooth Radio reverts to regional
Smooth Radio has reintroduced regional programming for the first time since 2010, separating its Smooth Radio network into Smooth Radio London, Smooth Radio East Midlands, Smooth Radio West Midlands, Smooth Radio North East and Smooth Radio North West.
From today (24 March), Smooth Radio is once again split into five regional stations in England, each with a regional breakfast show between 06:00 and 10:00, and a regional drivetime show between 16:00 and 20:00. There is also a four-hour block of regional programming on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, with all remaining output being networked from Smooth Radio London.
The Breakfast Show is presented by Andrew Castle at Smooth Radio London, Gareth Evans in the East Midlands, Nigel Freshman in the West Midlands, Steve Coleman in the North East and Darren Parks in the North West. Their Smooth Drive Home counterparts are Anthony Davis, Emma Caldwell, Charlie Jordan, Clive Warren and Carlos, respectively.
Networked programming on all Smooth Radio stations includes Mid Mornings with Kate Garraway and Evenings with Chris Skinner.
Global Radio own Smooth Radio London and Smooth Radio West Midlands. Communicorp own Smooth Radio East Midlands, Smooth Radio North East and Smooth Radio North West under a franchise agreement with Global Radio.
