Scottish Provincial Press buy three Scottish titles
The Banffshire Advertiser and sister titles Huntly Express and Banffshire Herald have been sold to Scottish Provincial Press.
The advertiser was founded in 1881 by the Johnston family and has been owned by the family publishers, now J&M publishing, ever since.
Scottish Provincial Press will add the three titles to its portfolio which also includes the Inverness Courier, Highland News and John O'Groat Journal. The additions are hoped to increase the publisher's presence in areas north of Aberdeen.
