Kevin Pietersen joins The Telegraph

Kevin Pietersen is joining The Telegraph Media Group as a cricket columnist.

Pietersen’s first column will appear in The Daily Telegraph and on The Telegraph website on Monday (9 June). He will be writing on all the major cricket issues throughout the year.

Pietersen played 104 Test matches for England, scoring 23 centuries and winning four Ashes series. He is England's leading run scorer in all forms of the game but his international career ended after the winter Ashes series defeat to Australia. He continues to play for Surrey, captains the Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League and plays in Twenty20 competitions across the world.

Pietersen said: “I'm delighted to have joined The Telegraph as a columnist. The prospect of providing my thoughts and analysis on all things cricket is an exciting one and I hope people enjoy reading them as much as I will enjoy writing them.”

Adam Sills, head of sport, TMG, said: “We are thrilled that Kevin will be writing for The Telegraph. He is joining the best cricket team in the country, also including former England captains Michael Vaughan and Geoffrey Boycott.”
