Daily Record to launch Audience First newsroom
The Daily Record has unveiled plans for an Audience First newsroom, a merger of its print and digital teams which will deliver content when and where readers want it.
The single production team will create content that will appear once across digital, print and e-edition platforms. A digital workflow will also be introduced so that more breaking news will appear on dailyrecord.co.uk first.
Also more writers and photographers will be hired to help generate more unique content for the Record and Sunday Mail.
Audience First will initially be rolled out on the Record and Mail, and later this year will reach the Paisley Daily Express and Media Scotland’s weekly titles.
Allan Rennie, managing director and editor-in-chief at Media Scotland, said: “We have seen significant growth in digital audience and revenue over the last 12 months.
“To continue this momentum, the wall between print and digital is being torn down."
