John Micklethwait leaving The Economist to join Bloomberg
The Economist’s editor John Micklethwait is leaving to become editor-in-chief of Bloomberg. Micklethwait has been editor of The Economist since April 2006. He will begin work at Bloomberg’s global headquarters in New York City shortly after the New Year.
A replacement editor is expected to be confirmed before the end of January; under the Articles of Association, his successor must be supported by the newspaper's four independent trustees.
