Financial Times has created a global Natural Resources team to bring together its coverage of changes that will shape the industry over the next decade.

The reporting of commodity markets, the environment, oil and energy companies, as well as miners and independent commodity traders, has merged into a single team headed by Neil Hume, who will take on the newly-created role of Natural Resources Editor. Previously Commodities and Mining Editor, Neil can be followed on Twitter @humenm.

David Sheppard has been appointed Energy Editor, overseeing global coverage of energy markets, global environment issues, pan-European and domestic oil companies, Opec, and UK energy policy. He leaves his role as Energy Markets Editor, and can be found tweeting @OilSheppard.

The team also includes Leslie Hook, who moved from the US in March, in the Environment and Clean Energy Correspondent role. Ed Crooks (@Ed_Crooks) continues as US Industry and Energy Editor, while Gregory Meyer (@meyer_g6) will add energy and commodities in Latin America to his current coverage of North American markets.

Anjli Raval has been appointed to the role of Senior Energy Correspondent, reporting on BP, Shell and Saudi Aramco, alongside wider oil market coverage. Anjli moves from her former role as Oil and Gas Correspondent and tweets @AnjliRaval.

Emiko Terazono (@EmikoTerazono), Commodities Correspondent, continues to cover agricultural commodities.

Henry Sanderson (@hjesanderson) remains Metals and Mining Correspondent, following precious metals, diamonds and battery materials, as well as mining companies.

Sylvia Pfeifer (@sylviapfeifer), currently providing maternity cover for Energy Correspondent Nathalie Thomas (@NathalieThomas3), continues in her role.
