About Response Source

Response Source allows journalists to send requests for information to public relations (PR) people. This is done using a simple form on the site. The recipients get the enquiries by email. It works quickly and efficiently. The requests are sent immediately and are structured carefully to allow PRs to decide rapidly whether a request is relevant and how they will respond.

Response Source is not new - it has been working for technology journalists since early 1998 on the technology and business journalists' site SourceWire. It is hugely successful with over 500 journalists using it regularly and over 1,500 recipients. This service is now called Tech Response Source and complements the multi-subject Response Source you see here.

Journalists using Response Source love the rapid way they can get a request for information out. It puts them back in control of the massive PR machine, which for too long seemed to simply 'push' information randomly to the press instead of responding individually to journalists' needs.

Response Source is not designed to replace the journalist's contacts book or to compensate for poor research. Instead, it helps journalists gather quantities of information in a short time that would otherwise be impossible, allowing them to spend more time interviewing, investigating and writing.
